Located at the front of Plaza Caracol in the hotel zone behind La Comer is Cynthia Fresh Restaurant and Organic Market. Open Monday to Saturday for breakfast and lunch, Cynthia offers a great selection of organic dishes on their menu. Every day there is a fresh soup of the day. There is a great selection of salads, Mexican dishes – tacos, burritos – and sandwiches. it is one of Beth’s favorite places for lunch. The challenge is often to find parking – sometimes we need to park at La Comer and walk over.

We recently stopped in for lunch. I ordered a bowl of the mushroom soup to start and broke the fresh bread into it. I chose the Baja-style fish tacos for my main course. Beth selected the “My Favorite Salad”. for her lunch. The soups are always great. The fish tacos surprised me as there were two large pieces of battered fish on each of three tacos on flour tortillas. The dish also came with small cups of rice and beans and some salsa. Beth’s salad was very large and had lettuce, avocados, fruit, a variety of nuts and a strawberry vinaigrette dressing along with a piece of fresh bread.
