Kahe Sushi Bar in La Comer San Jose del Cabo

John Anderson, Editor

Neither my wife or Mike’s wife like sushi. As they were off shopping, this gave us the chance to have sushi for lunch at Kahe Sushi Bar in the La Comer shopping center in San Jose del Cabo. We arrived just before the rush – the restaurant fills to capacity for lunch at about 2:30 pm. The atmosphere is very pleasant with a bar, sushi bar and both inside and outside seating.

The menu is quite extensive with appetizers, ceviche, poke, chef’s specials, special rolls and traditional rolls, some tacos and salads and pastas. We ordered gyoza to start, which comes with two different dipping sauces. Whether you choose the fried and the steamed gyoza both are very good. There are four pieces in each order and so we had two. For our main course, Mike ordered a spicy tuna roll and a rainbow roll. The rainbow roll comes with tuna, salmon or shrimp wrapped around each of the 10 pieces. I selected a Crunch Especial, which is a roll with special tuna, tempura shrimp, avocado, cucumber, caramelized onion and a spicy shrimp topping on the outside, crunch flakes. It is all bathed in special sauce. As each of these rolls come with 10 pieces, after our appetizer, we had 30 rolls to share. Boy were we stuffed by the end of lunch.

The sushi is fresh, the service excellent and the atmosphere comfortable. Check it out.
