Malvarrosa Coffee & Food

John Anderson, Editor
Looking for an air-conditioned restaurant to have breakfast (or lunch or dinner)? Malvarros Coffe & Food on Calle Paseo Malvarrosa (the street at the light one block from Valerio Gonzalez) is the place to go. This modern restaurant offers a wide range of breakfast choices – omelets, eggs, fruit, toast, and chilaquiles – as well as molletes, wraps, paninis and sandwiches. The lunch and dinner menu expands to soups, salads, fajitas, enchilladas, pasta, chicken, hamburgers, pizzas, nachos and even a children’s menu.
We arrived at 8:00am and the restaurant was fairly empty. However, with only about a dozen tables, the restaurant filled up completely during the breakfast hour. The service was attentive and fast. I ordered an orange juice and Huevos a la Mexicana and Alberto and Elizabeth ordered the Huevos con Machaca (a type of beef). The eggs came with refried beans and potatoes and vegetables. The food was very good and reasonably priced.
