Medical Tourism - Stemaid Institute in Los Cabos

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of attention to the potential of stem cells in the treatment of a wide variety of diseases. Over 5,000 trials were approved by the FDA during this period. In the United States, stem cells of different types – adipose (fat), hematopoietic blood), mesenchymal (umbilical) – have been approved for treatments of different conditions from skin to knees and hips to cancer. A recent group in the Netherlands has succeeded in curing the first man with Type 1 Diabetes using embryonic stem cells directed to the pancreas to recreate the beta cells that produce insulin. The Michael J. Fox Foundation has done research and tests with embryonic stem cells for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease.

One of the leading clinics – Stemaid Institute – is based at the Dunes of Palmilla in Los Cabos. Their distinction is that they created a line of pluripotent stems from a single blastocyst donated from a fertility clinic with known DNA characteristics and have grown stem cells from it for over 15 years. Pluripotent (embryonic based) stem cells are the only stem cells that can differentiate into any cell in the body, including cells in organs, nerves and the brain. Other stem cells are limited due to their source (e.g., adipose stem cells are used for the production of collagen for anti-aging treatments).

Over the clinics history, it has developed protocols for treating different conditions including aging, Alzheimer’s, COPD, Lyme Disease, Arthritis, Brain injury, Cerebral Palsy, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Stoke, Parkinsons, Scleroderma and different sources of pain throughout the body. The doctors and staff at Stemaid Institute assess the potential patient based on their medical reports, blood tests, sonic and magnetic resonance tests and personal interviews with the patient and their doctors.

Unlike many clinics using stem cells that offer one time IV or injections of stem cells and exosomes, the protocols developed by Stemaid involve daily intravenous treatments with stem cells for six days a week during the treatment period. Depending on the assessment and diagnosis, the treatment may also include IV vitamins, NAD, exosomes and the use of chelation therapy and ozone treatments. Patients also receive PRP and stem cell/exosome facial treatments and special massages to reduce toxins and the use of Chinese herbs to improve circulation.

In my experience with Stemaid Institute, I was treated for Scleroderma. The testing had found plaque build up in my arteries near my heart and brain stem. With a two-week protocol that included stem cells, chelation therapy and ozone therapy, a repetition of the tests showed almost complete reversal of the problem. Since that first treatment, I have had other sessions designed for general anti-aging that have also had the desired impact. During these times, I have had the opportunity to speak with many of the patients at the clinic being treated for different conditions with significant success. My wife was also treated with bio-identical hormones that have drastically improved her symptoms of a lengthy menopause. Most patients who arrive at 9:00 in the morning are provided with healthy drinks and breakfast foods and have a healthy vegan, vegetarian or other lunch provided by the clinic during the treatment day, which usually ends about 2:00 pm.

Stemaid Institute recently moved to a new facility in the Dunes at Palmilla. This clinic has a special room for IV treatments, several private treatment rooms for PRP/stem cell facials, ozone therapy, peptide injections and consultations with doctors or other clinic staff.
