Pueblo Campestre Phase 2 - Construction of Our New Town House

John Anderson, Editor

When we sold our house on the beach in Zacatitos and the buyer agreed to an early closing, we were very lucky that it permitted us to buy a new townhouse in Pueblo Campestre.  Phase 2 had just opened and the first set of units sold out almost immediately.  We were excited because we had earlier looked at a resale in Phase 1 of Pueblo Campestre.

As we watched the start of construction, our first pleasant surprise was to find that the two windows from the living room and dining room in Phase 1 had become french doors onto a very large outdoor area in Phase 2 – increasing the overall outdoor square feet significantly.  We visit the unit each Sunday to look at the progress.  Thus, we have also seen the quality of the construction – the placement of conduits for electric, the smooth coat and rounded corners on the walls, the placement of a 5000 liter water pila under the interior courtyard, the quality of the travertine being placed on the interior floors.  In the last two weeks, they have started to prepare the outdoor areas for the placement of the cantera tiles, including putting down tar and a fabric layer to insure that there are no leaks from the second and third floors.

Bruno, the engineer for the project has also be exceptional to work with.  He has met us a few times at the unit when we had questions and minor changes and he has been very accommodating.  We want our kitchen cabinets to go the ceiling, a pantry to be added and to have them painted rather than using the standard stain.  The care, attention and quality of the workmanship has been great to observe.

We have also noted the changes that other buyers are making.  Several purchasers of the same floor plan as ours (The Cardon) have opened the whole wall in the living room and dining room to the outdoor area rather than having two sets of french doors.  And one, has added a plunge pool in the outdoor space.

The photos included show several stages of the construction process to date.
