Located right across the street from the entrance to Walmart’s parking lot on Valerio Gonzales is Q’Chimba Gastro Bar. This small two-story restaurant is surrounded by black metal walls. There are dining areas on both the first and second floors, along with a lounge area on the second floor. Entering from the street, there is a bar on the left and the window to the kitchen is at the back of the dining area. The sign on the front of the metal building announces Burgers, Wings, BBQ Ribs and even sushi. The menu is true to the sign. In addition to a breakfast menu, the menu offers Burgers, Special Burgers, Salads, Wings and Ribs, as well as a number of sides. Another page of the menu offers Sashimi, Sushi, Special Rolls and Desserts.
I decided that it was only fair to try something from both sides of the offers of Q’Chimba Gastro Bar. So, I asked my server to start with the Tuna Tostada. This was three small rectangular tostadas with cubes of tuna, avocado, and jalapeno, with a small size of ginger. My server also provided a few salsas and some different soy sauces, if I so desired. The tuna was very fresh and the overall portion size was definitely shareable. For my second course, I asked for the Classic Burger sin queso. The burger had a 200-gram (6 oz) patty, a choice of onions, lettuce and tomatoes and a side of crispy French fries. The hamburger was great and I took half of it home for a snack later that night.
I had the opportunity to meet the owner Alberto that admitted things were slow this summer. I was there for lunch. I mentioned that I remembered the old outdoor taco place that you to be is this location along with a food truck with stuffed potatoes. The food was very good, as were the portion sizes and the atmosphere pleasant. The restaurant has a 4.8 rating on Google
