Saturday Organic Market in San Jose del Cabo

John Anderson, Editor

If you are looking for something to do on a Saturday morning, consider visiting the Mercado Organico in San Jose del Cabo at Club La Huerta. Just take the dirt road off Centenario across from London Bistro & Cafe about half a kilometer and watch for the signs. Open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, if you think of an organic market as a place that sells organic vegetables and produce, San Jose del Cabo’s Saturday Organic Market is much more. The market combines artists, artisans, clothing designers, restaurants, entertainment and exercise all into a single location.

When you enter the market grounds, the first thing you will see are booth supporting some of Los Cabo’s popular charities – LigaMac, an non-profit helping Mexican children with english and other subjects and the Los Cabos Humane Society. To the left as you enter the market proper are artists displaying their work and to the right, several organic produce stalls. Walking through the market, you will discover lots of custom-made jewelry designers, clothing designers, household and personal accessories and artists with paintings, sculptures and Huichol beaded designs. Health and wellness are also a major theme of Mercado Organico, offering both products and services – massage, numerology, therapy and more. And, if you are hungry, there are lots of great restaurants and bakeries represented at the organic market.

While strolling through the market, live music can be heard. There are often dance demonstrations and other entertainment as well.  The photos below are grouped by category, so make sure to scroll through them all.

It is a great way to spend a Saturday while in Los Cabos.
