Upholstery Cleaning in Pescadero

John Anderson, Editor

Just over two years ago, I bought an old 2005 Toyota Tundra dual cab pickup truck. The truck was from California and had lots of miles on it. The interior was actually in worse shape that the exterior with lots of stains on the seats and the carpets. A couple of detailing sessions really did nothing to improve the situation.

I recently saw some posts by Jose Salgado that showed before and after photos of the interiors of some vehicles that were nothing short of amazing. He also showed pictures of bringing headlight covers that were discolored and foggy back to crystal clear. I decided that it was worth the trip to Pescadero to have him try to revitalize my truck.

I dropped the Tundra off at his house and walked the two blocks up to Pescadero Surf Camp (owned by a friend, James Dobies) where I would sit and wait for it to be done. About three hours later, I started to get photos and videos that showed the work that he had done. The floor mats and front seats were removed so that they could get at all of the carpet in the body of the truck. The dash and console were scrubbed with a rotating brush. The whole interior was shampooed, and I am sure that special cleaners had to be used to address the heavily discolored carpeting.

The results were magical. The interior of the truck looked like it was almost brand new (obviously not perfect given the existing damage but an excellent job). I have included before and after photos as well as some pictures that he had sent of the cleaning process itself. The headlights and taillights also looked like they were brand new.
